We are to guard against any tendency to be judgemental or resentful towards others.  This is a call away from hypocrisy and to saying yes to integrity, mercy, and forgiveness.

The Greatest are Servants – Mark 10:32-45

We’re called to translate desires for greatness into actions of humility and translate desires to be significant into a decision to serve.  These flow into the greatest relationships and life possible.  Every relationship calls us to choose if we will exalt or humble ourself.  Selfishness destroys relationships with ambitions, comparisons and a need to be noticed, but humility develops relationships.

Treat Others as You Want Them to Treat You  –  Luke 6:27-36

This is often called The Golden Rule, one that has radical life changing potential by fuelling relationships. Love is not reciprocal, it is sacrificial.  It is not revengeful, nor is it stubborn in waiting for the other person to make the first move.  We need God’s power to live into the full extent of what this call us to, especially to the extent of loving enemies, rather than choosing revenge or becoming like the other person.
