Youth Ministry Coordinator
Brian started to serve the Bethel family in July 2016 as the youth ministry coordinator. He loves to see youth actively being the light of Jesus in their schools and community.
He loves hanging out with youth, discussing faith and making sure youth group is an awesome and safe place to talk about Jesus and the Gospel. He loves being a part of the town of Acton and its community.
Brian met his wife Paula while they were both attending the same college and married in early 2015. They have a wonderful son named Ezra. They also love animals and have a dog and a cat.
He loves music and playing his guitar and can usually see him at the local coffee shop, walking his dog or hanging out with his family.
Favourite Bible Verse: For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Ephesians 2:8-10)

Willena van Donkersgoed
Willena and her husband Alex moved to Acton in 2005. About 5 years and 3 children later, Willena began attending Coffee Break at Bethel, and a year later she and Alex made Bethel their home church. They and their children (Nicholas, Amaryn, and Linaya) have enjoyed becoming part of the church family.
In the summer of 2015, Willena responded to God’s call to apply for the Worship Coordinator position. She enjoys working with all the people who contribute to worship at Bethel in many different ways. Willena is excited to see what God has planned next for her and her family!
Willena enjoys spending time with family and friends, whether it’s playing board games, going for nature walks, camping, or just hanging out.
Favourite Bible Verse: For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that in in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38-39)

Community Life Coordinator
Shirley has been attending Bethel since 1993 with her husband Simon and their three adult children, Kate, Mike and Ben. She’s been involved in a number of ministries over the years, so understands the culture at Bethel.
Shirley was led to the Community Life Position and feels that it is a place where God can use her gifts and abilities to Shine Light and Show Love. She really enjoys listening to people and hearing their stories. Prayer is important to her and she covets your prayer for her in this role to be able to live out all that God is directing her to do. She is an encourager and loves being able to build people up to go and be all God wants them to be in the community of Acton.
When Shirley isn’t at Bethel, you might find her on a walk or jog through town, or shopping or sitting somewhere reading a book and having a coffee. Come join her sometime!
Her favourite Bible passage is Psalm 19 which starts with “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge” and ends with “May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.”
