CONNECTIONS

Connecting together, connecting with God

The Small Groups Ministry of Bethel

What is a small group? A small group is a bunch of people (approx. 6 -12) who meet regularly to learn more about God/The Bible/Christianity or to go out and serve. Our goal as a ministry is to provide various opportunities for people to grow in their faith and understanding, all the while connecting together and connecting with God.

Our small group ministry is a vital part of life here at Bethel.

Our groups are as unique as the people in them. There are groups that prefer DVD style studies, some that prefer more in-depth, verse by verse Bible study, and some that serve the community.

For more information, see the “Exploring Small Groups” brochure in PDF format.

KNIT & CHAT

Every second Tues @ 10 am

Ladies get together to spend time knitting and socializing. You don’t have to be a senior to join this group, and you don’t have to knit either!

Many of the women who attend work on their own projects and some other’s offer their knitting to the Fall Bazaar, to raise funds for various causes.

Some make pneumonia vests which are part of a massive shipment of food, clothing and medical supplies sent in support of a non-profit effort called Canadian Food For Children.  CFFC was founded in 1985 and created by Toronto philanthropists Dr. Andrew Simone and his wife, Joan, who received the Order of Canada in 2001 for their charitable work. These vests “can actually save a life” because many premature babies born in these countries don’t have access to an incubator.

The pattern for these vests are available in this PDF. Included in the pattern is a baby’s cap.

Once knitted, the vests are sent to:
Canadian Food For Children Warehouse,
